Manipulative lies of our pastors

pastor-1450094_1280
Today I will be talking about manipulative lies our pastors tell us to keep us in bondage.
When I gave my life to Christ more than two decades ago, Remi Adebayo a wonderful friend of mine said: “Yinka I thank God for your life, now you will not be followers of men but of God.” Even so, he was wrong. I became followers of men than God. I cannot do anything without asking my leaders in the fellowship if I should do this or that. I wanted to start a business during my national youth service year. I had to ask my leader if I should start it or not.
The first lie I am addressing today is that if you leave your church, you can never make it. You are cursed because you are yoke with the pastor. They hide under this scripture.

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalm 68:6

Maybe they don’t really know the meaning of the verse because they always use King James’s version. They claim God set you to be with them and if leave, you are rebelling and end up unproductive. Now let us look at another version.
God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. NLT
Reading from New Living Translation; where do we see that you are set in a particular church, and if you leave the church you will not prosper?
I was in a church for years been manipulated with the message of my pastor that if I left I will never succeed. I was tired of some things going on in the church yet I cannot leave. And I cannot complain because I have a principle that says, “Never complain about what you permit.”
So the only thing to do is to keep on praying. I had a prayer partner whom we pray together every Sunday after service. We would go to a school to pray from 1 pm until 7 pm. After several weeks of praying together, I was inspired to pray alone by the Holy Spirit on the fateful Sunday.
The Holy Spirit told me to read the gospel of John chapter four. I read it, and the Holy Spirit pointed me to verse 21 when Jesus told the woman that time is coming it will not matter whether you worship God in this mountain or in Jerusalem. But those that worship God must worship in the Spirit and truth. Then I heard the Spirit saying to my spirit, Yinka it does not matter whether you worship me in this church in Osogbo or that church in Kano as long as you worship me in the Spirit and truth, I am please with you.

That was the day I stopped going to that church. I started prospering more than before; and the best thing; I am free from spiritual bondage
Please set yourself free from bondage; God is the only one you cannot afford to be separated from; not your pastor.
